Memories of Cardboard Boat Race 2015 - Watch the video!

The Annual Cardboard Boat Race is an action packed day for 200 students (50 teams) from all across Southwestern Alberta. There are two categories of competition: Junior (Grades 7 - 9) and Senior (Grades 10 - 12).

Teams of 4 students design, construct and race a boat made of cardboard across a swimming pool.  The teams are provided all the necessary materials. 

Construction occurs at the 1st Choice Savings Centre (Track) with the pool races at the Max Bell Aquatic Centre. 

  • The track is closed during the construction stage - observers are not allowed on the track during this time.
  • The race portion can be watched from the stands at the pool. 

This event is free for Career Transitions member schools.

Please note: All consent forms must be into Career Transitions by no later than Thursday, October 20, 2016.  Teams who do not have their forms in by this date may lose their spot in the event.
